Waipio Valley. This is on the northern tip of the Big Island. There are many taro farmers here whose families have been here for generations. Twice this part of the island has been hit with a tsunami and not one person was injured. Legend will tell you that this is because it is blessed land.

Trev drove the Jeep down the 25% incline and over some rocky roads because I was too chicken to do it. This brought us to the place where we started our day hike.

That's a waterfall there in the background.

First we had to hold onto our boots and walk across a rushing river.

Then we walked across the rocky beach barefoot. This was, as Trev articulated, a lesson in mindfullness.

Then we entered the tropical trail.

We ended up at a waterfall swim hole and took a dip.

Wild horses.
